Where the GI Community Gathers

 

The Alberta Digestive Disease Summit (ADDS) is the premier meeting of Alberta’s gastroenterology and hepatology communities, hosted by the Alberta Society of Gastroenterology (ASG).

With a focus on the transfer of cutting-edge knowledge meant to inform and enhance clinical practice, the conference continues to stimulate clinical innovation and foster excellence in Alberta and beyond.

More than 200 clinicians, scientists, researchers, and industry leaders will gather for this ninth annual ADDS to review the latest in ground-breaking research and treatments, to discuss local and international developments, and to network with colleagues and peers.

ADDS Conference Objectives

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • Compare and contrast therapeutic approaches in the care of patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal including liver diseases.
  • Articulate and integrate into their daily practice the key findings of current research into objective monitoring for patients with IBD, Liver and functional GI disorders.
  • Define the interactions between diet and the human microbiome, what role they play in the development of gastrointestinal inflammation and liver related disorders, and then employ current therapeutic advancements in microbiome manipulation.
  • Distill and apply in a clinical perspective the latest and most salient information presented during prominent international meetings in the field of hepatology.
  • Build their network of basic and clinical investigators in order to promote translational and clinical research relating to gastrointestinal disease.
  • Interact with colleagues to foster a provincial community of practice.
